Attention potential CMJ attendees, and general music freeloaders, amongst the many bands playing around NY in the coming weeks will be a small contingent of NZ acts. To celebrate our presence at CMJ and hopefully introduce some attendees to these bands we have put together a three track sampler from bands we recommend seeing which you can download below - it includes...

1995 – “Foreign Soil”

A brand new, and appropriately titled, track from Auckland based 1995 off their forthcoming debut album due out early next year - catch them at the following shows:

Street Chant – “Scream Walk”

A nice face paced number off the debut album from local favourites Street Chant, who have built and impressive reputation for their live show over the years, enough so for Jack White to request them specifically to tour with The Dead Weather in NZ and Australia earlier this year.

Family Cactus – “Kingmaker”

An excellent example of the talented bunch that make up Wellington’s Family Cactus – Kingmaker features on their debut album Come Howling released last year.
