Elliot Smith will always hold a critical place in the pantheon of music, as much for his untimely self-inflicted death as his inimitable back catalogue. For those interested people who didn't follow his career right from his Kill Rock Star days, the label has released 'An Introduction to Elliot Smith,' an album that presents the early days, and includes his harrowing cover of 'Thirteen' by Big Star.
