Video: Gill Scott Heron And Jamie Of The xx - We're New Here
Earlier this year, Gill Scott Heron released his first studio album in 13 years. Around the same time Jamie xx was becoming a household name with the release of his band's Mercury Music Prize winning self-titled album The xx. Jamie gained independent notoriety for remixes of tracks by his contemporaries - Florence & the Machine's 'You Got The Love' in particular.
Now he's lent his magic touch to a more all-encompassing project, remixing Gill Scott Heron's seminal album. Called We're New Here, it features thirteen tracks from the Gill Scott Heron album sessions remixed by Jamie xx. Two of 2010's most exciting sounds brought together on one album, We're New Here is being released February 18, 2011.
