Big Day Out Release iPhone App

Pretty much every year we either forget to take our carefully highlighted timetable to the Big Day Out or loose it midway through and end up scrambling (unsucessfully) through the hordes of discarded booklets hoping one will still have the Auckland section. So, we're pretty damn happy about the newly launched Big Day Out iphone app which, among other things, lets you create your own timetable for the day, it's very handy indeed.

It’s all you’ll need to maximize your Big Day Out experience, before, during and for a long while after the Festival leaves town. Check out who’s playing in your city, on what stage and what time then create your own personalized schedule for the day so you won’t miss a thing!

Fully integrated with all your fave social networks, you can set your logins for Facebook and Twitter so posting pics, and comments is easy. Make all those folks at home jealous that you're dancing the day away at Big Day Out!

Loaded with heaps of other great features including all the latest Festival news and tweets in real time, lineup info, artist bios, videos and photos plus our personal favourite, the animated virtual lighter so you can show your appreciation for those epic live music moments after dark.

To celebrate the release of the first ever official Big Day Out mobile app we are giving you and a friend the chance to win a trip to Lollapalooza 2011 in Chicago!

All you have to do is download the free app, attend one of the Big Day Out festivals and take photos at the event via the App. The photos taken are automatically stored into a Facebook album called BIG DAY OUT 2011 PHOTOS (you’ll need to be logged into Facebook to make this work).

Post event, enter the ‘Big Day Out Lollapalooza Competition’ at the Big Day Out Official Facebook Page, choose your picture that best captures the ‘SPIRIT OF THE BIG DAY OUT’ and upload.
