Christchurch Suffers Another Devastating Earthquake + Gig Update

Christchurch has suffered another devastating earthquake. It hit just after midday and the effects are much more severe than the first with fatalities reported and hundreds of people thought to be trapped in buildings which have collapsed.

The Melvins and High On Fire were in Christchurch when the earthquake hit and are unharmed. They are still hoping to make it to Wellington for their show tonight, if they do it will be a late show. We will update this with more info as it comes through.

UPDATE: The Melvins and High On Fire are not going to make it out of CHCH tonight in time for their show in Wellington.  The promoter is currently trying to reschedule the shows - we will post a full update when everything is confirmed.

Amanda Palmer was scheduled to play Christchurch tonight but this show has been cancelled - further details pending. Her Auckland show tomorrow night (Wednesday 22nd Feb) is going ahead at this stage.

UPDATE: Refunds available from point of sale for Amanda's CHCH show - email us here if you didn't recieve our email.

Queens of The Stone Age were scheduled to play Wellington tonight but have been stranded at Auckland airport and have now postponed the show till tomorrow night, all tickets remain valid. Their Christchurch show looks unlikely but no official word yet.
