The Foo Fighters To Play Quake Charity Show In Auckland

The Foo Fighters have announced a one-off Auckland show next Tuesday at the Town Hall with all proceeds going to the Christchurch earthquake fund.

This is the second quake fundraising effort The Foo Fighters have got involved in, the first was an auction run on trademe where people bid on flights to the UK to meet the band and watch them play.  Dave Grohl record a video message to Christchurch as part of the comp -  click HERE to watch.

In response to the recent events in Queensland and Christchurch, Foo Fighters have announced the following shows:

Tuesday 22 March Auckland Town Hall, Auckland
Sunday 27 March Riverstage, Brisbane Botanic Gardens

The shows have been organized to provide aid for the victims of Queensland floods and Christchurch earthquakes.

The Auckland concert will be held on Tuesday 22 March at Auckland Town Hall.

The Brisbane concert will be held on Sunday 27 March at Riverstage in the Botanic Gardens. Foo Fighters will be joined by Australian rock band You Am I and special guests Cloud Control with a local opener to be confirmed following the result of the competition below.

All profits from the Brisbane concert will go to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal and all profits from the Auckland concert will go to the New Zealand Government’s Christchurch Earthquake Appeal http://www.christchurchearthquakeappeal.govt.nz/

Tickets for New Zealand will be on sale from 9:00am NZDST, Friday 18 March priced at $175 and $250. A limit of 2 tickets per purchaser will apply for this show. For more information on this show, visit www.frontiertouring.com/urlNZ
