Press release:

If you’re ready to be taken on a journey of epic sonic proportions, then boy have you come to the right place! Solid Entertainment are delighted to announce CUT COPY playing their first ever headline dates in New Zealand.

Australian pioneers of neon drenched electro-pop dance-rock and purveyors of euphoric hands-in-the-air festival appearances, CUT COPY will be landing their new show at the San Francisco Bathouse, Wellington, Wednesday May 25th and the Studio, Auckland, Thursday May 26th.

Touring in celebration of this month’s international release of Zonoscope their third and most ambitious album to date, CUT COPY have never sounded better. With an upcoming worldwide touring schedule including an appearance at Coachella and dates selling out all over the place (onto a third show in New York!), the band are at the peak of their game.

In news that is sure to delight - these first NZ headline shows are long awaited and much anticipated in equal amounts! CUT COPY have built a formidable reputation for their brilliant live experience and the size of these relatively intimate venues makes them must-see shows.
If you need any further sign posts to blowing off the doors then look no further than a big stage touring history with the likes of Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Daft Punk and a top spot at Lollapolooza!

CUT COPY cemented themselves as global dance rock sensations with previous album In Ghost Colours, a melting pot of crossover anthems and transcendent pop. Zonoscope is a triumphant return and upping of the ante from a band already acclaimed for the consistency and quality of their recorded output. Recorded in Melbourne and mixed in Atlanta by Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley, Deerhunter), Zonoscope paints a mesmerizing picture, conjured by artists at the height of their powers.

‘Dan Whitford and his fellow pop pirates have an incredible sense of juxtaposition, placing tricky and lush pyschedelia alongside the kind of big-screen pop dynamics that have turned them into international festival darlings.’ (LA Times)

‘Thanks to its beauty, warmth, and top-rate songwriting, Cut Copy remain atop the pile of dance-rock groups in 2011, right next to LCD Soundsystem.’ (allmusic)

‘Cut Copy will be changing the face of music faster than you can say ‘Kanye’ (NME)

‘It’s the best album of their career’ (Dominion Post, album of the week)

Get in quick and book your tickets with CUT COPY - top flight audio architects on a journey from lightly pulsing to neuron meltingly enormous - and all destinations between! It’s a head spinning revelation, first stop Wellington, lucky second Auckland.
