Wednesday 29th June, 2011 11:25AM

Ex-Yokel Ono drummer Glen Johnson, a freelance journalist for the past two years, has been jailed in Yemen for entering the country illegally. He was last heard to be following a people smuggling ring in Africa and is thought to have been picked up when sailing into the country from Djibouti. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and The British Embassy have been unable to make contact with Johnson due to the unstable political environment in Yemen.

For more info keep an eye on the NZ Herald, Johnson has worked with the publication and was in touch with Herald On Sunday editor Bryce Johns a week prior to his detainment, they will keeping a close eye on the situation. Here are their stories on Johnson to date.

Here is a great old music video from Yokel Ono - the duo featured Glen on drums alongside Thom Burton (Wilberforces) on Guitar/Vocals.
