MC Stormtroopa Attacked in Papua New Guinea

Friday 1st July, 2011 9:48AM

Matthew Scheurich, also known round these parts as MC Stormtroopa, is lucky to be alive after being attacked in a remote village in Papua New Guinea where he had been living with his girlfriend.

In an ordeal fit for a Hollywood thriller, Scheurich was attacked after trying to protect his girlfriend from a tribesman who had taken a liking to her and wanted to marry her. He was shot (or stabbed it's unclear) by two arrows and bashed over the head by a rock but managed to escape with his girlfriend who was sexually assaulted by the tribesman. Schuerich was lucky not to bleed to death, requiring 1.5 litres of blood when he reached medical help thanks to their emergency locator beacon and members of a church in nearby village Suabi.

Schuerich is now in Australia, where he had moved prior to his trip to Papua New Guinea, and is currently back in hospital suffering from infections but is believed to make a full recovery. Head over here for more details.

Here is a music video Scheurich released last year as Mc Stormtroopa filmed at the Ambassador in Pt Chev - we believe he was also once of a member of Auckland band Bemsha Swing.
