Press Release:

Goldie, the pioneering drum 'n' bass icon, DJ, actor, producer and graffiti artist will perform three New Zealand shows in Auckland, Wellington and Queenstown late September.

Against all odds and despite a traumatic childhood, Goldie succeeded in unleashing his boundless creativity to develop into a truly unique multi talented phenomenon.

Goldie first earned his name as a graffiti artist in the early eighties before entering the UK music scene. He went on to transform the underground Drum n Bass sound into a mainstream international movement, achieving both underground and chart success, selling more than 2.5 million records worldwide in the process.

Goldie founded the now world-renowned Drum and Bass label Metalheadz, while at the same time creating his career-defining album Timeless.

Goldie’s Sunday Sessions night at London’s Blue Note club was a massive hit and attracted people from all over the world, including many famous faces such as David Bowie, Val Kilmer, Josh Evans, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas.

His soaring music profile led to tour supports with the likes of James Addiction, Bjork and The Sex Pistols.

While music fans around the globe know Goldie for his DJing and producing skills, it is his wider multi media career that has made him a household name in the UK and beyond.

He has starred in movies such as David Bowie’s gritty gangland flick Everybody Loves Sunshine, Guy Ritchie's classic Snatch and James Bond's The World Is Not Enough working with Brad Pitt, Robert Carlyle, Robbie Coltrane, Denise Richards and Vinnie Jones.

Goldie has made many television appearances on shows such as the UK soap Eastenders. He has also appeared in Maestro, Shooting Stars, The Jo Whiley Show, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Stars in Fast Cars, Celebrity Big Brother UK, Celebrity Mastermind, Strictly Come Dancing and Come Dine With Me.

He has produced artistic works for the likes of Neneh Cherry, Noel Gallagher, Bjork, Kevin Spacey, The Sex Pistols and Snow Patrol, and has been the subject of books, films and documentaries.

More recently, Goldie has compiled and mixed the FABRICLIVE 58 compilation – a snapshot of some of the most cutting edge and visionary music from his Metalheadz stable.

Goldie’s future plans include re-recording Timeless and turning it into a full live stage show complete with orchestra and choir.

Goldie will be joined on tour by his long-time vocalist MC LowQui, who is now resident in New Zealand
