Listen: The New Ryan Adams' Album - Ashes and Fire

A poster child for Southern excess, Ryan Adams has cleaned up his act over the last few years through a marriage to Mandy Moore and abstinence from all the substances he freely abused during his early studio career. Whether this affected his output or not is up for constant debate, but many are tipping Ashes and Fire, his forthcoming solo full length - The Cardinals are gone, his inner-ear problem seems to be resolved - as a return to Heartbreaker / Love is Hell / the early stuff form. NPR are streaming the album in its entirety before the release date of 11th October on Adams' own label, Pax Am.
