Big Day Out 2012 First Line-up Announcement

UPDATE: Soundgarden and Kanye West have been confirmed to headline Big Day Out 2012 along with  Kasabian who had already announced they were coming. Tony Hawk is the "special surprise treat" bringing skate back to the BDO next year. These four join the 17 announced in the wee hours of the morning....

The first round of acts to play the Big Day Out in 2012 have been revealed. The headliners to come but here are the first seventeen acts to be announced....

Internationals: Best Coast, Girl Talk, Foster The People, Cage The Elephant, Odd Future, Battles, Mariachi El Bronx, Röyksopp, The Living End and My Chemical Romance.

Locals: Gin Wigmore, David Dallas, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Cut Off Your Hands, Ghost Wave, Beastwars and MayaVanya

"The Final Four", three of which are headliners, are being announced in the morning (Friday 30th Sept) at 10am so stayed tuned...

was really hoping for Primus to be announced, apart from a couple of the bands it looks more like an EDGE Summer Jam line-up - weak !

Every year there's one act people moan about. Personally I'm really looking forward to seeing Kanye do his thing. Also Soundgarden, Kasabian, Battles and BEASTWARS are all going to ROCK!! I was hoping to see the Beastie Boys on the list though.
