Friday Flashback: 13th Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me

With the announcement yesterday that Roky Erickson is heading our way next year we couldn't not feature 13th Floor Elevators this week. 'Godfathers of Psychedelic Rock' exclaimed the press release about Roky's show next March, and yes, yes they are, even coining the term 'psychedelic rock' apparently. The Texans released their debut single 'You're Gonna Miss Me' in 1966 and it is such a good song that we just had to post it again.
Here is a video of them performing live but we think the song may be over-dubbed, it's still a great watch...
A bio-pic was made about Roky in this songs name, released in 2005. Here is the trailer, it'd be a good film to check out before heading along to his show next year.
