Listen: Four Tracks From Sherpa's New Album - Lesser Flamingo

High energy pop quintet Sherpa are releasing their debut album in April and are heading out on an album preview tour starting this weekend in Auckland and Hamilton. Cheekily titled Lesser Flamingo, the album was mixed by James Dansey (The Ruby Suns, The Sneaks, Spring Break) and mastered by JJ Golden (Calexico, Devendra Banhart) and as a treat to fans will be available at the shows ahead of it's official release.

See below for tour details -  first up we have the pleasure of providing an exclusive preview of Lesser Flamingo with four tracks to stream including first single 'Lunar Bats' and the band have kindly provided a quick intro to each track....

Track 1: Turner
This was one of the first songs we wrote after we released 'Pretty Cool Optical Illusions.' We've been playing it live for about 14 months now and it's still fun to play.

Track 3: Lunar Bats
One of the later songs written, when Earl started singing us the 'untitled' version we were really happy with it's simplicity and the fact that it's a good old fashioned love song. As a band we developed it and naturally went into double time at the end.

Track 5: Chalk
This song was very much a collaboration of everyone's ideas. We started jamming on the main riff in Vince's bedroom, I think that same night we got shut down by noise control.

Track 10: Guarantee
We went away to Ben's family bach for a weekend and wrote and demoed a bunch of songs for 'Lesser Flamingo.' When we recorded it at our practice space 'The Holidae Inn' we were all dripping with sweat. It was one of the hottest days of January.
