Lapalux and oOoOO One-Off Wellington Show Next Week

UK electronic experimentalist Lapalux and influential drag/witch-house producer oOoOO (pronounced Oh) are teaming up for one New Zealand show next week at Mighty Mighty. Both release via pioneering electronic labels - Brainfeeder and Tri-Angle respectively - and tickets have just been released online for their one off show.  Here are the details...

Lapalux and oOoOO – EXCLUSIVE NZ SHOW
Mighty Mighty, Wellington, Thursday 17th May

Ex.D and Girl Trouble bring you two leading lights of electronic music in 2012 for an exclusive show at Mighty Mighty in Wellington on the 17th May. Lapalux (UK) and oOoOO (US) make music that while remaining determinedly avant-garde, also successfully incorporates elements of contemporary pop and r&b. Both artists will perform live for the first time in New Zealand. This is a first for music of this kind in New Zealand and is poised to take advantage of the crossover between traditionally ‘indy’ music and electronic beats.

Lapalux is Stuart Howard, signed to hip Los Angeles label Brainfeeder, home to Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer and Ras G, and this Essex based producer provides the same skewed and chopped melodic trickery as his label mates. Influential US website XLR8R rated his recent EP 8/10, Glenn Jackson saying that, “from a production standpoint, When You’re Gone is a simply stunning effort”.

oOoOO is San Francisco based Chris Dexter Greenspan, whose name and label Tri-Angle have become closely associated with the genre ‘witch-house’. Home to How to Dress Well, Holy Other, and Balam Acab, Tri-Angle have become darlings of the media with a range of distinctive and celebrated releases. oOoOO, pronounced ‘OH’, drops his highly anticipated new EP ‘Our Loving Is Hurting Us’ on April 30th.
