2014 Will Be The Final Year of Camp A Low Hum

2014 Will Be The Final Year of Camp A Low Hum

Wednesday 18th December, 2013 10:12AM

A Low Hum founder Ian Jorgensen/Blink has announced that 2014 will be the final year for his internationally acclaimed music festival Camp A Low Hum. Running for seven years now, Blink has promised an epic lineup to see the festival out with over 35 international acts and 50 local bands. Always brimming with ideas and plans, we'll no doubt see plenty more from the innovative promoter but this certainly spells an end of an era.  Tickets for the festival are still available but don't dilly dally...

Camp A Low Hum 2014
6-9 February, Camp Wainui

Tickets available online from HERE at UTR, instore via our retailers nationwide (Real Groovy, RPM, Slow Boat, Cosmic south island stores) and via the A Low Hum site.

Here is a highlights clip from the 2013 festival...

Press Release:

THE LAST CAMP A LOW HUM

I have been agonising on whether to announce that this would be the final Camp for many months now. I wasn’t going to make it public that I was finishing after this one, but I realised that it would be a bummer for me to announce on the last night of the event that it was the last one as it would create more of a buzzkill and depressed vibe than the celebratory party that I am hoping it will be! So I’m giving everyone a heads up so we can give it the send-off it deserves!

It’s been an amazing seven years so far, I can’t express enough thanks to everyone who has come and supported this ridiculous concept - you’ve allowed me to do some stupid stuff over the years as I program my ultimate fan-boy lineup every time. I hope you can come and celebrate with me the past 7 years of Camp.

If you’ve never been to a Camp and want to see what all the fuss is about, if you’ve been before and want to go one last time or if you’ve been every year and don’t want to miss the last party, there are still some tickets available.

Due to the this camp being the last one I’ve worked harder than ever on curating the bill, trawled through countless bands - just in the past month I’ve seen several hundred live and because it’s the last one I have squeezed in more acts than ever too with around 10 “international” acts, 25 acts from Australia and what will end up being around 50 bands from NZ.

This is going to be three of the most amazing days of music and that is not even counting the “renegade” bill which is already shaping up to be seriously awesome with some amazing acts who have played previous camps and awesome acts from overseas and more. I would expect another 50 or so bands to play “renegade” sets over the weekend.

There are more bands playing than ever but the capacity is still the same as it’s been the past few years, so you can expect the same intimate shows. You can buy online through Undertheradar, through bank account at alowhum.com or in person through select retail – Slowboat and RPM in Wellington, Real Groovy in Auckland and Cosmic in Christchurch or Dunedin.

If you want to get someone a sneaky Christmas present, just use the Direct Debit option, email me their name but your email address and you’ll get emailed the ticket as soon as the money gets processed.

If you dont have enough money right now, but have been before and are stressed about missing the final event, email mealowhum@gmail.com and I'll email you an instalment plan to pay it off over January.

The site at Wainui has been overhauled and I’m having bands play in some spaces where I’ve never had bands play before, places you’ve probably never even seen before. Get excited.

This isn’t the end of me and events/parties, just the end of Camp. See you in Feb. One more time.
