Flying Out To Open Record Store in Auckland

Flying Out To Open Record Store in Auckland

Monday 13th April, 2015 12:54PM

Flying Out, an online music mail store established 18 months ago, is opening a physical record store in central Auckland. The Flying Out site was created under the umbrella of Flying Nun and Arch Hill labels (who operate out of the same office) but also sells releases from myriad local independent labels including Muzai Records and Lyttelton Records, alongside some international releases. With the strengthening of the site's popularity over the last year-and-a-half, Flying Out says opening a physical store was the next logical step. "We are all music fans and community is an incredibly important part of what we do," says co-director Matthew Davis (pictured, right). "Having a physical space to compliment our online community will help build this further."

The new store, which will be opening at 9am Saturday 18th April to coincide with Record Store Day, will also be the new home of the Flying Nun and Arch Hill offices, as well as Aeroplane Music Services. The address is 80 Pitt Street Newton, just off K Road.
