The debut album form Auckland 4 piece Body Corporate has finally arrived. And thank Christ it has.

Not that Auckland or NZ needs saving musically but there needs to be these bands that hammer out their music devoid of current trends.

It's an album of guitar rich pop-indie-post /experimental-rock flavours with a kind of pulsing undertone that moves this record along. The dual guitars tussle throughout, but its an agreed clash then at the lighter moments its harmonic bliss. Will Waters bass playing is at his best with a thick tone and rhythm combination control with solid, direct drums.

There are definite nods here to Flying Nun - Bailterspace’s corner, as well a healthy dose of Sonic Youth and even vague remnants of Interpol and spacier Pink Floyd.

My favs are Everything Happens for a Reason, Blue Star Line and of course Bubble Gum.

Oh and did I mention only available on juicy vinyl? Out now.
