Bon Iver fronted by songwriter Justin Vernons has an instant feeling of familiarity. Like hearing some Neil Young on the radio you instantly know who it is.

This EP is a very future looking alt country sound, with smooth, natural guitars with the occasional slight scattered solo, there's something very real been captured here.

Justin spent three months in a remote cabin in Wisconsin to create this recording and it seems this loneliness and focus has come through.

The recording is wonderful, full of perfect dynamics and well placed layers. It’s a rewarding listen.

It's nice to hear something different to For Emma Forever Ago, gives an indication of wherre he might be headed. Not too sure on the autotune of Woods though...
