Hamilton music has never been as intriguing as it is now. This city, just an hour and a bit south of Auckland has always produced interesting muic from all genres.
From Ghidrah to Scooter ‘there’s something in the water’.
And The Shrugs are somewhat of a gate keeper to the whole scene with this, their 4th album.
It's an album that feels like innercity sidewalk dawdling (don’t ask me how) – It ambers along with a slight bleakness, that is all too apparent when “you’re a fucken nasty piece of work” gets blared out of the speakers.
It’s like indie rock meets street scum punk
