I couldn’t actually listen to this album in its entirety; I found it so awful. It’s kind of indie/fun/pop crap that is everywhere at the moment, so unoriginal with an annoying female vocalist who likes singing ‘Oh Yeah’ again…and again.

The Grates are a three piece from Brisbane and are all ex-art school students; I would expect something abit more, well, cool from such creative people. It’s fast-paced, poppy and would appeal to a teenage girl, very radio-friendly and middle of the road, even though I’m sure they class themselves as ‘indie’.

Front woman, Patience has a sweet voice and all, but they sound like they should be playing at a Christian festival. Best thing about Teeth Lost, Hearts Won is the album artwork.
