Oxford Collapse - Bits

Bits

Oxford Collapse

Bits

7 / 10
7th September

By XTine

Oxford Collapse are three guys from Brooklyn, New York, forth album Bits is fast, fun, enthusiastic indie-pop with a carefree vibe that reminds me a little of Violent Femmes.

On the Sub Pop label, Oxford Collapse seem like they should be stuck back in the early nineties in some University campus; not that that’s a bad thing, it’s a refreshing listen with all the other folksy arty indie-pop out there at the moment.

This is guitar pop sung with shouty lyrics, best listened in a pub with a handle in your hand, singing along. Standouts for me are the noisy The Birthday Wars and love song Young Love Delivers.
