GIG GUIDE - Event Details

Bill Hickman

Bill Hickman

Wed Dec 16th, 2009

Doors open: 7:30 pm
Entry: R18

Alt-country with attitude from Bill Hickman. He moves from heartrending to bad ass with ease, warm smoke infused vocals and soulful acoustic guitar.

Bill Hickman has been making music in Wellington for over a decade. He is currently a member of The Shot Band, Wellington covers mainstays King Lazy, in addition to having fronted high energy rock bands such as Fat Mannequin and Speedo. Bill’s solo work has seen him emerge contentedly in the middle of his wide range of influences and skills, drawing from the energy and lyrical intensity of his rock roots but also rich with the acoustic textures, and intimacy of alt-country, folk and blues. Bill has opened for country great Gillian Welch at her three sold out performances in Wellington’s Paramount theatre, in addition to regular appearances about Wellington over the last two years.
