The 3D’s live show has been described as a “mind-boggling, eye-popping, heart stopping affirmation of twin-guitar hysteria. At home they have shared the stage with everyone from Nirvana to U2, and in the US they toured with Pavement, Superchunk and Guided By Voices. Bono even gave them kudos for drinking his backstage rider on their Zoo TV tour.

More recently, they have been invited by Pavement to play at the prestigious All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in the UK, happening in May this year. They are also performing at the inaugural Saint Jerome’s Laneway Festival in Auckland on 1st of February 2010.

Whatever planet you live on, there is no band like The 3D’s, no band as “spookily transcendent or plain raucous as David Mitchell, David Saunders, Denise Roughan and Dominic Stones – collectively known as The 3D’s.

a stunning set last night at Sammys. Street Chant played before the 3d's, and played a blistering set of snarling, spitting guitar noise-pop- brilliant and could only be compared to a late 80's early 90's 3d's in intensity, thrill and brilliance. The 3d's were fantastic- truly a bunch of "Beautiful things" sending an appreciative crowd into delirium. Having seen them in Dunedin in front of 50 people, to their brilliant "Hellzapoppin'" album launch at the magnificent super8 venue (where truly I thought the warehouse floor may collapse beneath us- but what a way to go!), a full circle to Sammys was a moment of joy. Having my 16 year old son in at the front screaming word for word (and air-guitaring all day at home today) proved the noise-pop perfection of the mighty 3d's truly is incomparable. A tou7ch of poignancy for me- having seen them live so many times, last night was the first time I thought that it may be the last. if you are in Auckland (god, Pavement!!) Christchurch or Wellington, you have got to get to see this- fantastic!
