After releasing his debut album, ‘It’s a love thing...’, Leon Wharekura, is set to embark on his North Island tour, performing concerts in Hawera, Hamilton, Wellington and Waiheke Island (in Auckland). Leon is Joined at each venue by his live five piece band made up of some of Aotearoa’s finest musicicans. He is also joined by special guests, Taisha (a lead vocalist of The Lady Killers, winner Best female vocalist and best Maori song at the Maori music awards)... or Rewa Ututaonga who featured as a soloist in the Sir Howard Morrison tribute, ...To Sir With Love, beautifully delivering the broadway musical ballad, ‘There’s a place for us’.
Leon was just recently announced as being a finalist in the Maori Music Awards 2009, for his debut album.
