One of Wellingtons hottest Latin players Carlos Navae will be teaming up with fabulous trumpet player Vaughn Roberts to bring some Latin energy to Rubys. On the balcony if fine, inside by the fire if not.
Carlos is known from his previously formed salsa band called Clave Latina and now known as Carlos Navae & Son Clave which is known as the best Salsa Band in New Zealand & it’s also leader of the Cuban Trio “Son Asere” and member of Several Bands including Bazilian band: Samba Funk, Latin Jazz Band: Grupo Salson, Reggae band: Rainbow Country, and Hip Hop/Reggaeton Band: The Jineteros. Carlos has been a special Guest with members of the Wellington Vector Orchestra and The Black Seeds with the Vaughn Roberts Big Band.
Vaughn Roberts (trumpet/vocals) received the 2006 New Zealand Music Award for best jazz album. He is the lead trumpet player on TVNZs Dancing with the Stars and has performed with such artists as Norah Jones, Che Fu, Ronan Keating, and Kiri Te Kanawa.
