After a quick cruise on the Interislander, Christchurch electro-hip-pop heavyweights Ed Muzik and Rare Shot Blue will be taking the stage at Wellington's Mighty Mighty for a night of things and stuff. Ed Muzik and the Burning Sensations have been churning around in the grid city music scene for almost two years now, after Ed recruited a bunch of musicians to make him looks better than he actually is. Recent gig highlights include opening for Minuit on their South Island tour, and playing in the barrel room of the Pegasus Bay winery, at a birthday party that can only be described as 'large'.
When Rare Shot Blue aren't making music videos that get banned from C4, then they are probably writing beats. These guys have an insane number of songs, the best of which they are looking at packing into an album for release later in the year. Vocalist and MC Kommi raps and rolls about subjects as varied as Jersey Shore, serial killers and jam rap donuts, whilst maintaining an epic number of sunglass options for on-stage changes.
Joining the chch-crowd will be Welly locals the Crackhouse 5, as well as Rap Authoritar and Sensei What. I don't know shit about either of them, except that when I got in touch with people and asked them who could bring the party' the response I got was either Crackhouse 5 or Rap Authoritar. So I tracked them both down. It was the least I could do.
