30 years of experience in the New Zealand music industry as percussionist, guitarist & songwriter of iconic Pacific reggae bands “Herbs” & “Mana” Carl Perkins humbly moves fowad into the future with his two sons Te Omeka & Isaiah Perkins and an 8 Piece Band known as House of Shem. Te Omeka & Isaiah not only provide musicianship but are also lead vocalists and songwriters who have there own unique talents. House of Shem have toured NZ for the past 3 years extensively and have become regular fixtures at NZ’s top music festivals including Womad, Parihaka Peace Fest, Big Day Out, Ragamuffin and were selected to represent New Zealand on the Ragamuffin Tour of Australia with top headline acts such as Julian Marley, Steel Pulse, Lauren Hill, Shaggy, Sean Kingston. April 2010 saw House of Shem recording there 2nd album with Legendary producer and Bob Marley’s personal engineer “Errol Brown” who has worked with such reggae greats such as The Marley family, Gregory Isaacs, Inner Circle the album is set to be released in New Zealand October 2010.
House of Shem is on tour this winter to promote their up and coming release and to spread a positive message to New Zealand of Peace, Love & Harmony.
