Saturday 28th August The Boom Bap Sessions feat: BUFF 1 (US) w/ CheKamikaze (AKL) Support from The Boom Bap Collective ( Marek and Bucks a Pop )

All the way from Ann Arbour, Michigan. After extensive European, and U.S tours, sharing the stage with some of the biggest acts in hip-hop (Eminem, Mos Def, De La Soul, Slum Village, Jurassic 5, Dead Prez, Talib Kweli, Little Brother and Ghostface Killah.) Buff1 is here this August for his debut NZ tour.

When even the most faithful fans fear for the state of hip hop, many more are left to wonder; when will ‘the next big thing’ be someone they respect Now - on what seems to be a perfectly timed cue - emerging from the underground squad the mighty Athletic Mic League, an electrifying power of an MC who goes by the name of Buff1. Buff has come with a stage show that impresses even those who had perhaps lost faith. His presence and flow draw the unaware out of their seats and put the skeptics hands in the air. His unmatched lyrical talent is highlighted by the humor that doesn’t come naturally to most and the simple philosophy of those deeper thoughts that everyone can relate to, but none seem able to verbalize with his ease. Buff1der's commanding presence on and off stage, has earned him a die-hard fan-base ready to beat their speakers up with his latest release. Whether rocking a party anthem, a political burner or a soulful banger, one thing is certain – Buff consistently delivers. If you think there’s another Buff1 in the game, keep searching...There’s Only One. Buff1. Grimy Pretty. Futuristic Soul.

In 2007, Buff1 officially became a respected solo act with the release of his critically acclaimed debut Pure Then In 2008, with the successful release of “There’s Only One” Buff received rave reviews from XXL (“if it ain’t Buff, it ain’t right”), OkayPlayer, Vapors, XLR8R and URB Magazine who selected Buff to stand among their annual Next 100 in 2009. It’s not about keeping it real, or being true to the game – it’s about being true to Buff1.
