Gig Information

On October the 8th, 2010 Julian Temple Band internationally release their third, full-length studio album Balance Escapes on California-based independent label Oscillosonic Records. The album was recorded in South Dunedin at drummer PMKs Sub Urb Studios during the bitter, cold winter of 2009, only a month before the release of the bands last album Quiet Earth. However, post-production at Tom Bells Tin Shack Studios did not take place until mid-2010, in order for JTB to tour Quiet Earth extensively through New Zealand. Temple says, It was good to come back off tour with a new project ready and waiting. The album consists of nine banging tracks, one of them 11 minutes long, and takes a grungier, more psychedelic approach then their previous efforts to date. Part of this is due to Temples decision to hang up his acoustic guitar and pick up his Les Paul electric so that he could channel his rock n roll upbringings. Also fresh to Balance Escapes is the presence of bass player Scott Campbell, who replaced original member Matt Brook in 2009. Having Scozza on the album gave us a brand new lease on the music and we were able to dramatically change direction with no real hiccups. It was like we started a whole new band, says Temple. The band plan to tour the album as much as possible in the next year with a trip to the U.S. planned for late 2011. But first and foremost JTB bring Balance Escapes to their hometown on Friday the 8th of October, at 12 Below with a little help from their friends; Alizarin Lizard, Something Quartet and Left Or Right Soundsystem. See you there!!!
