GENEVA SET TO SOAR WITH ‘SCREAM’ SINGLE RELEASE
Geneva is ready to shake the New Zealand music industry with her new single Scream. The gig will be hosted by Juice Bar in Parnell at 7.30pm on Friday 15th October.
Drawing from influences like Florence and the Machine and likened to Brooke Fraser, Geneva has the voice of an angel, a dynamic band and meaningful mysterious lyrics.
Geneva is an artist going places. She is set to film a music video with BaylyMoore who have a track record working with artists such as Midnight Youth, Jason Kerrison and Boh Runga.
Geneva has come into her own, developing her sound and style to fit. The singer songwriter is accompanied by her incredibly talented band made up of session musicians who work with the likes of Nathan King, Seth Haapu, Luke Thompson and Jesse Sheehan. Her drummer and bass player are set to tour with Crowded House in 2011 accompanying the talented Seth Haapu.
Geneva released her first single Everyone, recorded at the esteemed Roundhead Studios in August 2009. It was played on Life FM to rave reviews, landing in the Top 10 for several weeks. After the success of her first single, she released her second single Like You. Achieving high rotation for a period of months, it was also in the Top 10 for several weeks.
“Scream is as refreshing as its composer. Sonically, the song swells with synth pop awareness without detracting from the sentiment of its lyric. Awesome music, awesome lyrics, awesome artist” says Seth Haapu.
Geneva has already been snapped up to play at a New Years youth event Primal Getaway at Cooks Beach, as well as doing an end of year tour with one of New Zealand’s great non for profit organisation, TEAR Fund.
Im excited about my new single Scream! It has been such an incredible journey getting this song ready to share with people. Scream is a real and somewhat raw expression of my thoughts and experiences on the road of growing up and coming into my own. We all go through hard times and things can get a bit heavy, but its through those situations you learn its okay to scream sometimes Says Geneva.
