Every year 40% of all death in NZ is caused by Heart Disease - well above the OECD average.
On February 12th, local bands are coming together for one night of mayhem, fun and damn good music to help raise funds for the charity - it will be one wicked gig indeed but for a great cause!
$10 door entry with all proceeds from the door and part of the bar takings go directly to the charity.
The Heart Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation that funds research and promotes heart health in order to reduce the rates of cardiovascular disease in New Zealand.
Since the Heart Foundations establishment in 1968, heart disease death rates in New Zealand have halved and stroke death rates have almost halved. Despite these encouraging figures, cardiovascular disease still accounts for more than 40% of all deaths in New Zealand each year. Many of these deaths are premature and preventable.
