The Auckland Blues Clubs Blues Jam nights are held on the second Wednesday of every month at The Winchester, 24 St Benedict’s Street, Newton.
The doors open at 8.15pm and the jam will start around 8.30pm.
There will be a door charge of $5 to non-club members and free entry to club members.
The aim of the Blues Jam night is to encourage musicians of all levels to come along and play and thereby giving local blues artists the chance to gain recognition and experience in front of an audience, or just have some fun.
It also provides a networking and social ground for aspiring and established blues musicians to mingle, and exchange ideas and techniques.
Bring your guitars, harps, voices, drum sticks and whatever instrument you play.
The club does supply a drum kit and a bass amplifier, but please dont rely on being able to borrow gear, especially guitars or guitar amplifiers, so guitar players should bring an amp if possible.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in, but in the interests of fair play and to make sure the night runs smoothly, you must adhere to a few Blues Jam night rules.
This is Auckland only dedicated blues jam and it is an opportunity to network with others who love the blues, both musicians and enthusiasts.
Non musicians – we need you too!
It won’t work without an enthusiastic audience, so come along and enjoy a great night of blues from local and visiting musicians.
