The University of Auckland Presents
Kids of 88 and Zowie Orientation Concert
Friday February 25, 5-10.30pm
The University of Auckland Business School Plaza, 12 Grafton Road, City Campus
Kids of 88, Zowie, Computers Want Me Dead, Pikachunes, O’Lovely and DJ Andrew Tidball join forces to bring first year University of Auckland students the ultimate free orientation concert!
New wave/electro duo Kids of 88 describe their music as a cross between a late 80s police drama intro theme and a sophisticated super hussy. Well known for their 2008 single My House, Kids of 88 released their album Sugarpills last year, spawning the epic hits Just A Little Bit and Downtown.
At only 22, Zowie has already opened for The Kills and Peaches and has performed at The Big Day Out and Rhythm and Vines. Fresh from touring Australia and the United States, Zowie and her backing band of robot boys are here to make you dance… and make you blush.
The other acts are also rising stars, and there will be plenty of other entertainment at the event, including the opportunity to win a fantastic prize pack.
There will be a licensed bar, so attendees will need to bring ID. Anyone suspected of overindulging at the bar will be sent to the first aid room to chill out.
This is a smoke and drug free event. Entry to the concert is with the Student ID card and is for University of Auckland students and staff only.
