Blues guitarist John O’Connor is one of New Zealand most experienced and respected musicians. John has played with a dazzling, and eclectic, range of artists some of whom are music legends. BB King, Chuck Berry, Kiri te Kanawa, Spencer Davis, Bo Diddly and conductor Ron Goodwin are just some of the huge international acts John has been part of. He’s also played with leading Australasian artists like Roger Fox, Renee Gayer, Colin Hemmingson, Dalvanius Prime, Midge Marsden, Beaver, Mark Williams, Annie Whittle, Patsy Riggar, Jodi Vaughn, Brendan Dougan and Jacqui Fitzgerald.
John, whos style is commonly summed up as ‘Jeff Beck meets Robben Ford’ is widely admired by his peers for his original jazz influenced, sophisticated approach to the blues.
