Gig Information

“LIVE” at The Library Bar – a regular monthly evening of tantalising tunes and seductive stanzas at the cosiest bar in town.

Where: The Library Bar, corner Pakenham East and Market Pl. Viaduct Harbour

When: Wednesday July 27th – and the last Wednesday of every month.

“Koha” Entry

It’s a Wednesday night in late July and the perfect opportunity to do something different. Imagine settling in to a cosy armchair with a glass of wine, being warmed by enigmatic songs and passionate prose. Imagine the delight in diversity as poets, musicians and comedians alike, all take to the mic so you can savour some of the flavours that are Auckland’s spoken word talent.

If you have already been to a LIVE event, then you know why everyone’s talking about it. If you haven’t, then July 27th is the opportunity not to be missed. Printable Reality’s latest monthly event is fast becoming a favourite with its diverse Open Mic complimenting special guest performers. Michelle Bolton is the evening’s Master of Ceremonies; and the oh-so appropriate venue is The Library Bar- the viaduct’s best offering.

Book-lined walls, retro paintings, plush sofas and morish Tapas are just some of the highlights at The Library Bar. This unique and welcoming Bar is fast becoming a firm favourite amongst all who discover it. The Library Bar is excited to be able to offer Aucklanders a venue for unique events just like “LIVE at the Library Bar”.
This month’s special guests are:

Callum Gentleman –
Who is ' A Gentleman' …..
“A Gentleman is any man who wouldn't hit a woman with his hat on.”
Fred Allen
“A Gentleman is indebted to his memory for his jests, & to his imagination for his facts”
Richard Brinsley Sheridan
“The prince of darkness is a Gentleman.”
William Shakespeare
“I could I trust starve like a Gentleman. It's listed as part of the poetic training, you know.”
Ezra Pound
“A Gentleman is simply a patient wolf.”
Lana Turner
“The only infallible rule we know is, that the man who is always talking about being a gentleman never is one.”
Robert Smith Surtees
“I write words, set them to music, I plug my strat into a fender amp, put on a hat and I hit the road.” Callum Gentleman

Jeremy Roberts

His poetry is thought provoking, mixing dark humour and powerful imagery to create a truly different point of view.
Jeremy’s performance will be accentuated by the urban flavours of Rasam.

Rasam
At only 21 Rasam has already established himself as one of New Zealand’s finest up and coming musicians. His versatility as an MC/Singer enables him to cater to almost all the modern popular genres with Reggae, Hip Hop and Dub step being his strongest niche.
The past year has seen Re come to the forefront of the New Zealand Dub step & Drum & Bass scene. He has opened for a large number of the heavyweights in the NZ electronica scene. Rasam is also the founder and owner of DUBJB Music NZ Ltd - an events and promotion business set up to support and promote New Zealand music.

Be sure to make your way to the Library Bar a little earlier than usual to catch the launch of “Are you feeling Nostalgic'”- a new exhibition from the talented Anna Forsyth, which starts at 6pm. Enjoy the mouth-watering tapas, peruse the artwork, enjoy a drink and prime yourself for a night you’ll never forget at “LIVE at The Library Bar”.
