The Midnights are a band with momentum, since their formation in 2002 they have carved out a very impressive resume. Their eclectic rocksteady reggae sound has landed them spots at major festivals alongside reggae legends such as The Wailers, UB40, Third World, The Skatalites, Big Youth and Maxi Priest, purely on the basis of their formidable live reputation.
The Midnights' sound draws from a diverse range of musical styles, a mixture of upbeat ska and roots reggae is diversified by an element of slower vintage rocksteady, with a dash of soul and blues. it is this talent and passion for live reggae music that has seen the band leap from its humble origins into the limelight.
Performance alongside New Zealand's top roots musicians and groups such as Katchafire, Fat Freddy's Drop and Salmonella Dub have continued to cement The Midnights as one of the country's best live act's. Now with their debut Outside certifiably signed sealed and delivered focus shifts to the next phase of The Midnights unique, experimental roots which means more amazing live shows for us kiwi's.
