Leeches, Dreams of the Dead and Guests Tribal State, Downfall Of Humanity, I Spit On Your Grave, Manic Baby Dolls + a magician and comedian.. Forming in 2007, but with none of the current members, Dreams of the Dead began as a heavy metal outfit playing covers in and around West Auckland. The band drastically changed with the inclusion of two new guitarists, Nikolai and Chris, who replaced all the members within a year. Using the songs the previous members had written, and playing the same covers, Dreams began playing professional gigs in the central area of Auckland, and started to develop their dark, middle-eastern influences that now inform their original sound. Writing and recording their own material to release a new album in early 2012, the band has steadily played and worked, treating fans to high-energy shows and visual elements such as video projections, lasers and strobes. Dreams are planning a busy 2012, and are currently enjoying their first year with no lineup changes (a first for the band). Dreams of the Dead offer music enthusiasts a listenable, singable heavy metal solution, with exotic flavours. The band plans to tour the country with other heavy rock musicians in the near future, including two shows in Christchurch where two members are originally from.
