Stick around Auckland this Easter and treat yourself to something far better than what the easter bunny has to offer. A blistering live set from Mothra at the Thirsty Dog on K Rd with support from Roache and a debut set from Brigada.
Mothra's sound draws from the alternative, progressive and post metal genres, mixing ambience and atmosphere with massive low tuned riffs and odd tunings. Mothra combine experimental ideas with conventional catchy song writing, forged into a unique sound and journey of their own. There is something very special about to be released, and it may even be out before this gig.
Roache describe themselves as 'Post Motown Gangsta Core' and cite influences such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Parkway Drive, Eminem, John Butler Trio, Dr. Dre, and Rage Against The Machine. And they play naked.
Not to be missed is a debut set from a band called Brigada. These guys cite none other than Black Flag as a major influence, so expect a raw brand of hardcore punk from these fellas.
Only $10 on the door, merch will be available. First band on around 9
