Bar Bodega, Doors 8pm
You are discordantly invited to enjoy a night of Bloody Kisses in the Creepy Green Light, a celebration of the music of Type O Negative and the life of Pete Steele. Yes indeed, this April 13th will be Black No.1 Friday. A selection of Type O's classic tracks of doom, gloom and romance will be performed for one night only by the Drab Five at Wellington's classic live music venue Bodega with support from Blutfleck and DJ Blacksisters.
Not only will we be enjoying Friday the 13th but as the witching hour approaches and we move into the early hours of Saturday we'll be marking the second anniversary of the passing of the Jolly Green Giant himself. It was April 14 2010 when Peter Steele's massive heart shuddered to a stop silencing his distinctive, tomb deep voice forever and ending Type O Negative.
So get ghoulish, grim and ghostly and fiendish and throw a howl to the Wolf Moon as we spend a night full of Blood and Fire.
P.S. Make sure your roots aren't showing…
The Drab Five are:
Alastair Parkkali ([sfn])
Vivian Stewart (ex Slave Cadaver)
Duncan Nairn (Keller Kinder)
Brad Gallen (Alabaster Theatre)
Fraser McLeod (mostly his bedroom…but he's awesome)
