Christchurch three-piece Tweak embarks on a South Island in November with local brothers in arms Radio Ron, starting at the Dux de Lux (Christchurch) on Thursday the 6th. Reforming in 2008 after a brief hiatus, Tweak’s punk-rock sound is described as “combining the kinetic madness of German post noize band ‘Laktate!’ and the dulcet warblings of ‘Gary Numan.’” Comprising Hunter (Guitar, Vocals), Sam (Drums), and Matt (Bass, Vocals), Tweak are currently in the process of recording material for an upcoming EP. Forming in 2005, four-piece Radio Ron plays a kind of ‘fusion-rock, and their sound has been compared to the newly reformed Supergroove, old school funk/soul artists Sly and the Family Stone, as well as hard rock pioneers Deep Purple. They plan on releasing a three-track EP early next year, as a follow up to their favourably acclaimed 2007 mini-LP ‘Kicks and Punches.’ Radio Ron are Thomas (keyboards, percussion, lead vocals), Pete (guitar, lead vocals), Ryan (bass, vocals), and Mason (drums, percussion, vocals).
Both bands deliver a set of high energy tunes and unpredictable stage antics. A show not to be missed!
