Riverblind finish their national tour at home in Wellington, on Dec 12th, at San Francisco Bathhouse. After travelling the country, they have many a story to tell, from the highs of Dunedin's Mou Very (probably the smallest bar in the universe), to the lows of Invercargill's bizarre take on toasted sandwiches.
The three musicians in Riverblind are still too pretentious to agree on a genre name, but are currently enjoying this, from the Otago Daily Times: "rock and jazz-infused music". Whatever it is, it involves Dan Simpson on bass, Stefan Sarten on drums and Dave Kempton on guitar, lead vocals and trumpet. It also involves all three of them singing, which is just one of the many ways in which the band has changed since the last time they played San Francisco Bathhouse.
Charlette Hannah likes them: "Riverblind's music is dark, aching and intelligent; and their musicianship is among the best I've seen..."
As does Joe Ryan: "One of the best live acts in the country."
In addition to eclectic, original and moving music will be a visual spectacle, under the control of Raptor Claus. Concert goers will also delight in the sounds of both Pyramid Scheme and Silenzio & The Swift.
Riverblind have released an EP, "Mind Estate" and are set to record an album in the new year. Visit www.riverblind.com for more information
