Live at The Thirsty Dog Cafe and Tavern, this is a free gig for new up and coming artists to showcase what they've got.
Evil Tomato comeback gig with very special guests all the way from New Plymouth: Bittercup and Emily Riordan
Evil Tomato are a two piece hard rock band consisting of Aidan O'Loughlin (guitar, vocals) and Brendan O'Loughlin (drums, vocals). You can expect a devastating assault of riffs reminiscent of the 90's grunge era a brutal, yet soulful engagement with the audience at every gig.
Bittercup is intense, dark and unpleasant. Like a good coffee. His debut EP, Negative Space, was descriped by Happy Mag as a bleak but undeniably endearing collection of alt-rock gems. Bittercup describes it as stripped down Placebo dipped in Nine Inch Nails with a secret Tool fetish.
Emily Riordan plays dreamy, melancholic soft pop influenced by her roots in classical piano and singing with a twist of Lana Del Rey. Her songs, featuring understated instrumentals and mellow, delicate vocals, are inspired by the highs and lows of human connection.
