Saturday, February the 28th , will see the lovely St Peter’s Hall fizz with an evening of fine music featuring the talents of Rosy Tin Teacaddy (aka Holly Jane Ewens and Andy Hummel of the Woolshed Sessions) who are giving us a sneak peek at their eagerly awaited new album, The Homeward Stretch (due in-store April 1).
Following on from their 2007 album Blind Leading the Blind, The Homeward Stretch is a collection of loosely interwoven vignettes featuring rogues, temptresses and miscreants. Some are flights of fancy, dedications to loss, or rants from the confessional booth.
Performing with their full band – Janet and Shona Holborow on strings, Ben Fulton electric guitar and Alistair Fraser on Bass – Rosy Tin Teacaddy aim to bring you CD’s hot off the press.
Joining them will be the Christchurch fellow tea-loving duo, The Ragamuffin Children, who are currently touring the island promoting their new release, The Seahorse Emporium. They bring to the stage beautifully crafted songs that are performed with imagination and soul, and their unique rapport with the audience creates a cosy and intimate ambience.
Door sales only, entry by folding donation. BYO alcohol and home-baking, Feb 28, 8pm, St Peter’s Hall.
