Afrobeat pop/mash-up band extraordinaire, Ijebu Pleasure Club pay tribute to the great Tony Allen, who sadly passed in 2020.
The engine-room for the Afrobeat sound, Tony Allen is recognised as a truly great master of the drums, originating the distinctive Nigerian funk style alongside Fela Kuti.
With a massive 12 piece band, Ijebu will play tunes by Tony, and Fela, that remind us what a giant of a drummer he was. Expect some classics, some lesser known cuts, and maybe the odd bit of pop-mashup too.
We'll celebrate the great man's work, by getting you on your feet, the way he would have wanted you to feel the music.
