AUT Māori Expo has outgrown its previous location and made the move down town to New Zealand’s premier venue, Vector Arena. Now in its 14th year, Māori Expo is all about celebrating Maori achievement in all fields – cultural, political, sports, education, and the arts.
The day will feature exhibition stalls with info about tertiary study and career pathways; a fashion show with NZ’s hottest streetwear; panel discussions with high profile Māori sportspeople, representative from the top political parties and the winning speakers from the 2009 Tamaki Makau Rau Manu Korero Speech Competition; kapa haka groups; and dance crews.

After a day of stalls, debates, fashion shows and kapa haka, relax and unwind with AUT Māori Expo’s first ever night concert. See six of our finest local acts in a way you’ve never seen them before; on a stage that’s played host to some of the biggest names in international music.
The line up:
The funk infused beats of Tahuna Breaks, New Zealand hip hop royalty Che Fu, the soulful reggae stylings of Cornerstone Roots, House of Shem and Three Houses Down, and The Jick who won the 2006 Smokefree Pacifica Beats competition. To top it all off, DJ Poroufessor will be there doing what he does best, mixing beats.
