BLACK SUN EMPIRE and TIKI LIVE
Support from:
State of Mind, Truth, Organikismness, Woosh and Undertow
Black Sun Empire represent the finest in dark and techy dancefloor drum and bass.
Since bursting onto the scene back in 2000, they’ve continued to develop their own unique style and sound, releasing numerous singles as well as two full-length LPs and establishing themselves as leaders in the field.
With their awesome DJ skills and inspirational productions, Black Sun Empire have reached far beyond their native Holland and toured everywhere including USA, UK, Russia, Australia and New Zealand to name but a few.
Their latest venture is “Shadows of the Empire,” a new label opening around Spring 2009 that sees the crew present their own interpretations of the dubstep sound, in typical BSE fashion.
Tiki Taane brings his critically acclaimed live experience back to Dunedin to celebrate the release of his remix album FLUX. After huge reviews in both Australia and New Zealand, Tiki returns with his allstar band, The Dub Soldiers for the first time since Orientation 2008.
Known and respected as one of the major influences of Aotearoa roots music, Tiki spent 11 years carving his way around the world as the dynamic frontman for popular band Salmonella Dub, writing and producing their most known tracks. Following the release of many successful albums together, Tiki decided to leave the band to focus on his own solo record Past Present Future. Quickly becoming one of the biggest selling records in NZ, the album features the huge No1 hit single Always On My Mind.
Tikis second release FLUX is unleashed on Aotearoa. Featuring remixes by some of Tikis favorite producers, this release takes the critically acclaimed "Past Present Future" to another level. Compiled and mixed by the man himself, Tiki once again shows us why hes one of Aotearoas most respected artists. Known for being musically fearless, a pioneer of Aotearoa bass culture, Tiki now brings us the remix album of the year - FLUX.
Available online at www.tikidub.com/shop and at all good music retailers from July 6th.
The TIKI LIVE show has been described as dynamic and powerful, uplifting and stirring, and spiritually moving, an experience not to be forgotten.
