As if Summer Slaughter and An Audience With The Devil weren't enough to whet the bloodthirsty whistles of the fest-going New Zealand metal populace, another multi-band evening of relentless brutality will take place in the darkest depths of Auckland City at October's end: TOTAL FKN MAYHEM, back after a year's hiatus.

Headlining the night are The Kings of New York Death Metal, SUFFOCATION. Having mercilessly flattened an Auckland City moshpit almost three years previously, the Brooklyn bruisers will return to New Zealand shores on the back of their latest guttural masterpiece 'Blood Oath'. With many who witnessed their first New Zealand performance claiming the band to be the best live metal act they'd ever seen, Total Fkn Mayhem represents the greatest opportunity for the unlucky who missed out last time to see one of the world's most devastatingly lethal live metal acts at the peak of their game.

L.A. deathcore lunatics WINDS OF PLAGUE roll into town as part of their four date New Zealand tour to join the night's proceedings. Combining furious deathly intensity with thunderous hardcore breakdowns, the California sextet have unquestionably deserved their rapid ascent in the metal/hardcore underground. Rounding off the mid-card are Auckland legends DAWN OF AZAZEL, with their highly anticipated new album 'Relentless' due for release a mere fortnight before Total Fkn Mayhem and Melbourne-resident spazzgrind maestros AKANAME, performing their only New Zealand dates for 2009 and with a new slab of elastic insanity 'Faith and Other Evolutionary Obstacles' out now.

Add to this Christchurch goregrinders VIXEN EXECUTION, Auckland metalcore terrors BLOODLETTING, Gisborne's favourite hardcore sons SAVING GRACE, Wellington's THE DAUNTLESS, Auckland's ANABYSS, CHRISTCHURCH's OUR FALLEN and Whangarei's ANABYSS, and the line-up for 2009's Total Fkn Mayhem installment looks an immense prospect of fully-fledged carnage indeed.
