The Hicks were officially formed in the summer of 2007 but have been playing together since around 2004.
The duo consists of Stephen Tyerman on fiddle (Paddys Wagon, Flat Tack Bush Band) and David Thorpe on guitar, vocals and harmonica (The Black Velvet Band, Little Chuck Little, the Pholks).
They were introduced to each other through their work with The Black Velvet Band and formed a musical partnership based around their mutual love of western swing, blues, country and eastern european music.
The Hicks gives Stephen and David a platform to indulge their musical passions and create, as the legendary Bob Wills said, "good time music for dancin".
