It took only 12 minutes for concert tickets priced at a celebratory $19.79 to sell out for Dave Dobbyn’s Auckland show. An additional second show sold out by end of day and now a third and final show has been announced for Friday Nov 27. Tickets go on sale Monday morning, October 5 through Ticketmaster.
Classic Hits is marking Dobbyn’s 30 years as a recording artist with concerts in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, where he will perform all the hits from 1979-2009.
Those attending will be reminded of Dobbyn’s capacity to write a hook that endures, from Th’Dudes and DD Smash through to his solo hits. His continuing relevance is evident in his recent nomination for Male Artist of the Year for his latest album, ‘Anotherland’, an award he won for his previous album in 2006.
